Teachers – Do You Want to Develop Your Skills?
If you are a teacher who would like to develop your skills and broaden your experience, Castle College has the course for you.
The College is offering you the chance to take a course which will bring you right up to date with the Government’s drive to improve literacy, numeracy and language skills in the UK. The Level 5 Diplomas in Adult Literacy, Maths and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) are for existing teachers who want to become specialists in these subjects. If you want to help adults overcome educational barriers and improve their skills then this course will provide you with everything you need.
The Diplomas are a year long, part time and are taught at the College’s Beeston Campus in association with the University of Bedfordshire. You will need a Cert Ed or PGCE and a minimum of 75 teaching hours in the subject you will be studying.
Sharon Mellors was one student who benefitted greatly from the course: ’I took the Level 5 Diploma in Literacy course to improve my teaching skills, I loved the course and have gained so much from it. I have been able to create many resources to convey difficult information in a fun and interesting way. I have also learnt about the range of difficulties that some learners face and how to support them to overcome barriers to their learning. It’s a great course and will enhance your skills; I also made some new friends at the same time.’
