Nick has a ball at Castle

Nick_Hancock__WebsizedComedian and television presenter Nick Hancock ensured that Castle College’s new Junior Knights 7-a-side football league got off to a flying start.  Nick joined over 60 children from Nottingham City schools for the event at a rain-soaked Forest Recreation Ground. Over 100 youngsters will compete over the next four weeks in matches organised by Justin Walker, Football Development Manager, and his team.

The league has been set up in partnership with the Nottingham City Schools Partnership and Djanogly City Academy.  College players have also had an opportunity to work with the schools. One player, Shane Russell, has even obtained 6 weeks employment with Carrington Primary School through the project.

Nick commenting on his day in Nottingham said: “It’s great to play a small part in this fantastic project.  What Castle College is trying to achieve is absolutely fabulous.  It’s a pity Justin couldn’t have organised better weather!”
